Medical schools how to guide

For Clinical Pharmacology Month we are holding a medical student competition. If you work in a medical school in the UK or Ireland then you can get involved. Become a local facilitator and hold your own Clinical Pharmacology Month event.

Role of a local facilitator

If you become a local facilitator you will need to:

  • organise a competition date for October and agree it with us
  • coordinate the event
  • book event venue and any equipment needed
  • secure one or two local clinical pharmacologists to score oral presentations
  • promote the competition (and let us know how)
  • support medical students with their applications
  • mark all abstracts submitted by your local students by Wednesday 3 October
  • notify local candidates of the outcome of their submissions by Friday 5 October
  • send us the details of the local winner, along with photographs of the event by Wednesday 31 October
  • send the presentation scoring sheets to us
  • support your winner at the national round at our annual meeting, Pharmacology
