Volunteer with the Society

There are many ways to volunteer with the Society which can help you to develop new skills, build your network and promote pharmacology. This page provides information on the different areas you can get involved in across the Society and how to register your interest.

From writing for our blog, to helping at scientific events and conferences, there are a wide range of opportunities available to you as a Society  member, wherever you are based in the world. These include:

  • Digital Communications – would you like to get involved with writing for our blog? Or do you have an idea for an article for Pharmacology Matters, our online magazine?
  • Public Engagement Events – if you’re passionate about sharing your science with public audiences, volunteering to support our public engagement activity could be for you!
  • Policy Engagement – We are working hard to ensure that policy-makers and their teams are provided with accurate and up to date information to help inform their decision making. If you would like to get involved with our policy work, we would love to hear from you.
  • Scientific Events and Conferences – Do you want to learn what it takes to run an international scientific meeting? Our events team welcome volunteers to help support our annual meeting, focussed meetings and workshops throughout the year.
  • Our Committees and Advisory Groups – joining an advisory group or committee is a great way to build your networks and help to shape Society activity to support the pharmacology community.
  • Author for Assessment and eLearning – If you are interested in supporting the production of questions and resources for the Society’s Prescribing Skills Assessment and e-learning platforms, the team would like to hear from you.
