This is a practical guide developed for researchers by the Sense about Science team. It aims to cover the key steps in involving the public in, and communicate findings from, their research – from the earliest stages of projects, and on the most challenging of subjects.

Engagement Grant

You can apply for up to £1,500 for creating or developing high quality engagement and outreach activities that will reach a variety of public audiences. You can also apply for smaller 'Seed Funding’ grants (up to £250) that can be used for high impact, low cost activities, or for the design and testing of activities that have potential to grow.



Engagement Training Bursary

You can apply for a bursary of up to £500 to help you develop your engagement skills through training activities and events. From public speaking to exhibition design, stakeholder mapping to blogging, there are so many opportunities to build your skills and share pharmacology with the world.




A pocket-sized pack of flash cards with key information about signalling proteins and major families of receptors to help undergraduate pharmacology students to learn and revise effectively. ReceptorCards were developed by a team at the University of East Anglia, supported by a Teaching Grant from the Society, and are now available for purchase.
