Sarah is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, University of Bath. Her research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying the response to stress, the development of depression related behaviours and how we can use this knowledge to inform antidepressant development. Following a Wellcome Trust Advanced Training Fellowship in 1999-2002 at Weill Cornell Medical College, New York, Sarah returned to the University of Bristol as a lecturer in the School of Medical Sciences before moving to Bath in 2005. Sarah teaches pharmacology and neuroscience to pharmacy and pharmacology students. She also runs an in vivo skills module, enabling pharmacology undergraduate students to complete Home Office licence training and get hands-on experience in behavioural psychopharmacology.Sarah is Chair of University of Bath's Animal Users Committee and supports the work of Understanding Animal Research to promote openness on animal research.
