Dr D’Orléans-Juste received his PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Sherbrooke in 1987 (supervisor: Dr Domenico Regoli) and did his post-doctoral training in the cardiovascular pharmacology of endothelins at the William Harvey Research Institute in London, UK (supervisor: late Sir John Vane, FRS, Nobel Laureate of Medicine (1982)). He is currently a Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology at the University of Sherbrooke where he initiated his career in 1990. He was appointed Chairman of his Department in 1999 until 2004. Dr D’Orléans-Juste developed and was the first director (2000-2005) of the only French speaking BSc program in pharmacology in North America. Finally he was the first appointed director of the Transferable skills center at the University of Sherbrooke (Centre Universitaire d’Enrichissement de la Formation en Recherche; CUEFR) between 2010 and 2015. Funded uninterruptedly by Federal or Provincial funding agencies in Canada throughout his career, Dr. D’Orléans-Juste has authored or co-authored hundreds of peer-reviewed articles (274), 15 book chapters and one monograpy on ACE inhibitors.
