Professor Ingolf Cascorbi MD PhD

Ingolf Cascorbi is Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Kiel, Germany and Director of the Institute of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology, University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein, Campus Kiel. He graduated in biochemistry and in medicine and received a PhD in biochemistry from the Free University an MD from the Humboldt-University Berlin. He specialized in Clinical Pharmacology at the Charité Medical Center Berlin and became associate professor of pharmacology and toxicology at University of Greifswald from 2000-2004. His current research interests include the variability of drug response, in particular pharmacogenomics of drug-metabolizing enzymes and drug transporters, drug-drug interactions and the molecular background of anticancer drug resistance. Ingolf Cascorbi is a member of various editorial boards as well as national and international scientific societies, i.e. he was Chair of EACPT 2007-2011 and President of IUPHAR 2018-2024. He is also heavily involved in education and was until recently Vice Dean for Education at the Faculty of Medical in Kiel.
