I received my PharmD from Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) in 1989. Under supervision of Professor T.W. Stone at the Glasgow University’s Department of Pharmacology, I received my PhD in 1995. Professor Stone taught me that academic life is very beautiful and motivational; therefore, upon arrival to my country, Iran, I commenced work at the Department of Psychiatry TUMS as a young assistant professor of psychopharmacology. Step-by-step, I was promoted to full professor over a twenty-two year time span. My main research focus over the past two decades has been a bridge between pharmacology and psychiatry. I joined BPS and became a member in 1995 and I have taken part in all BPS winter meetings since then. Since 1995, I have observed many generations of British pharmacologists at the BPS meetings and with some we have grown old together. Currently, I am the Vice Dean for Research at the TUMS’ School of Medicine.
