Professor Emma Baker

Emma is Professor of Clinical Pharmacology and honorary consultant at St George’s, University of London. In this role she leads a research programme in respiratory infection and inflammation, conducting translational research into chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, exacerbations and comorbidities. She leads undergraduate teaching in clinical pharmacology, therapeutics and prescribing and is an author of two leading prescribing textbooks. She was an executive editor of the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology for 10 years. Clinically she specialises in care of complex patients with multimorbidity and polypharmacy with a respiratory focus. She has a strong track record in developing and supporting clinical pharmacology trainees. She was previously a trustee of the British Pharmacological Society, and is currently Vice President Clinical.
