Fellows of the British Pharmacological Society are members who have demonstrated distinction and peer recognition in pharmacology. Our Fellows have made substantial contributions to the discipline of pharmacology and the Society, through their work, publications and/or attendance at Society meetings.
Members wishing to apply for Fellowship must demonstrate distinction and peer recognition in pharmacology. The normal criteria are:
- Contribution to pharmacology, demonstrated by career progression and publication record in suitable journals (or, for those in industry or outside mainstream research, by references from Fellows or Full Members)
- Contribution to the Society, demonstrated by committee or editorial board work or attendance at and contribution to Society meetings
- At least five years as a Full Member of the SocietyApplicants are asked to provide a one page explanation of how they meet the criteria for Fellowship. Applications must be supported by two Fellows of the Society.
Application deadlines: 1 January & 1 July each year
Selected applications are recommended by the Nominations Group to the Council for approval. The names of new Fellows of the Society are usually published in the national press.
