Membership Fees

Membership fees are due on application and then on 1 January each year.
Current membership fees are shown below. Please note that discounts are available for fees for full members from World Bank designated developing countries.
Applications between 1 October and 31 December each year are charged at 15/12ths of the tariff rate for Associate, Full and Fellowship grades, but no renewal fee is payable on 1 January following.

Undergraduate Membership

Available to undergraduates working on a pharmacological topic, and to medical students until the completion of their degree.

Membership fee: Free for the duration of your undergraduate studies.

Postgraduate Membership

Available to postgraduate students working on a pharmacological topic, and to foundation doctors.

Membership fee: £20

Affiliate Membership

Available to individuals from related professions such as nurses or pharmacists.

Membership fee: £60, Renewal: Direct Debit: £40, Debit/Credit Card (by 1 Feb): £50

Associate Membership

Available to early career pharmacologists who do not yet have the necessary qualifications to become Full Members. Also available to Clinical Research Fellows' and Specialist Trainees years' 1 & 2.

Full Membership Available to individuals who have published in peer reviewed journals, and who have presented a communication at a meeting of a scientific or medical society. Also available to Clinicians holding a CCT or trainees on a CPT specialist training programme. Applicants are normally expected to be educated to at least PhD standard in pharmacology or a closely related discipline. Membership fee: £90, Renewal: Direct Debit: £70, Debit/Credit Card (by 1 Feb): £80

Fellowship Candidates must demonstrate distinction and peer recognition in pharmacology and should have held BPS membership for at least five years. Candidates are asked to provide a one page explanation of how they meet the criteria for Fellowship. Standard tariff: £150, Renewal: Direct Debit: £130, Debit/Credit Card (by 1 Feb): £140
